August 28th - September 3rd

The second week at SVF was to start and my sprits and social activity were high. Monday and Tuesday (Måndag och Tisdag) were normal class days. Woke up had breakfast, went to class, went to Fika, went to our next class, went to lunch, went to next class and then went to dinner. During the nights we spent our time playing card games in Swedish, watching movies, and discovering the sauna in one of the dorms. On Wednesday (Onsdag), my roommate, Linnea, and Mimmi, and I decided to go to the store to buy school supplies that I had been going to class without for the past week. When we got to the store, I tried to use my credit card that was for international use at Office Depot, but it declined. I called my bank and just finished finally activating my card. Class continued as the normal schedule except for Thursday (Torsdag) where Jack and I were taking the normal 8-10 Swedish class to go to the migration agency and get our visa (Kajsa's and Olivea's were not accepted at this point). We walked into the city and waited at the migration agency. It took a total of 20 minutes to get called to the front and take our picture and get our fingerprints taken. We walked back to school in time for Fika and our next class which was comparative politics. Friday (Fredag) came around and we had another class of P.E. Our second P.E class where we would actually play a game and start the semester. We played a game that was similar to baseball, but instead of a pitcher the person who was batting would just throw the ball to themselves, hit it and try to run the bases before the other team could get the ball to the square that was drawn in the middle of the room. After P.E we had Fika, then Mediterranean World, Lunch and then we were done for the day. Saturday came around, and Jack, Kajsa, Olivea, Axel and someone from the General Line we had previously met named Alexander decided to go into the city and meet the rest of the College Line at a bar named IdleWild. I ordered a beer that sounded good at first but then realized the little tolerance I still have for alcohol and immediately wanted something different. Lucky for me, Alexander, who ordered an apple cider traded drinks with me. After this bar, Kajsa and I decided we were hungry and wanted something to eat so we decided to go get burgers. We stopped at this retro diner where we got our burgers and Jack won a bouncy ball in one of those small vending machine things (he was way to happy about his bouncy ball). After we ate, we decided to go to another bar/brewery called Pipes. I ordered this beer that everyone got (Kajsa got a pear cider). I actually found this beer much better than the last beer I ordered. We drank and talked and then decided to walk home. We got back to SVF and wanted to watch a movie so Alexander, Axel, Olivea and I all decided to watch Shrek 2 (Axels suggestion), and then go to bed. The next morning I stayed in bed for the most of the day as I had no plans. At the end of the day most of the College Line (Jon and Jack) made dinner and shared with everyone for Sunday dinner, we ate and then Kajsa, Olivea, Klara, and Mimmi decided to watch a romantic movie (of course we picked The Notebook). At this point I was settling in the school, the city and the country. I was becoming very secure here and loved the people I was surrounded by. The view remained a beautiful combination of city and nature and I felt blessed every morning.

*This was the only picture I could find for this week, sorry.
